African textiles flags

Many of these flags originate from Ghana and tell stories of Village's or family histories. The famous art collector Alistair McAlpine sold his collection at Sotherbys quite a few years ago and this very much started the public fascination. You'll see many of these flags displayed in deep glass frames, this adds a clean and modern edge.

The Paul Smith store on London's Albermarle St sells a good selection of framed Ghanian flags so to see one in the flesh pop in. I've always liked the idea of making one myself with my family story.
